What are taweez?
This is a Qur’anic phrase or a dua. A hadith was written on paper, wrapped in a strip of paper, and hung around someone’s neck to shield or keep off evil.

Imam Bayhaqi said a detailed Hadith in Dalail-un-Nubuwwah the brief points of which are that Sayyiduna Abu Dujana رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ made a complaint in the court of Rasoolullah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ about Jinns that disturb him at night so he صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ gave him order to bring a pen and paper and asked Sayyiduna Ali رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ to write a few words from holy words.
After that, Abu Dujana رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ folded that paper, brought it home with him and put it under his pillow before going to sleep. At night, he heard the screams of Jinns, who begged him to put the away. In the morning, he discussed that situation with Rasoolullah صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ.
The Holy Prophet said, “O Abu Dujana, take that taweez away from them for Allah has sent me with truth, that nation (Jinns) will be in pain until the Day of Judgment.”
Several different types of various shapes and sizes are used depending on the individual’s needs. There is an amulet for love, money, performance, and many other things. Simple Taweez, on the other hand, is based on the four components of earth, fire, water, and air.
- Earth amulet is typically carved on metal or drawn in ink or with Zafran on a piece of paper. The best way to use a Taweez like this is to hide it in the dirt.
- Fire: This kind is often carved on metal or wrote on paper with a pen or Zafran. However, it must be positioned near a heat source or in the fire for it to work.
- Water Taweez is written or carved in the same manner as the Soil and Fire Taweez, and the best method to use these is to dump them into a water body like a river or lake.
- Air: This form of Taweez is written in the same way as the others. Air Taweez, on the other hand, is suspended from a roof or a tree.
